Ice container freezing up due to ice dispenser door being open
This repair was slightly different than the videos on YouTube. The YouTube videos showed a solenoid instead of a motor but the videos looked similar other than that. Also the videos did not show screws holding the cover plate on which mine had.. Here are the steps for our refrigerator. Tools - #2 Phillip Screw Driver with removable tip. 1. Slide out tray at the bottom of the ice/water dispenser and remove the two screws at the lower back of the cover plate. 2. Remove the cover plate by lifting up slightly (need to get over tabs at the top) and disconnecting connector. 3. Remove tip from screw driver for the next steps and the screw driver end will fit the hex screws. Remove two screws holding bracket in front of ice door mechanism. Do not remove bracket, just need some clearance. 4. Follow wires from ice door motor to PC Board, disconnect connector and pull back wires so the ice door mechanism can be removed. 5. Remove two screws holing ice door mechanism and remove mechanism. 6. Remove two screws holding motor to the ice door mechanism and replace with new motor. 7. Reverse steps to put system back together. NOTE: During check the door will take five to twenty seconds before closing after getting ice.

Ice maker dispensor door had stopped opening
Removed the drip tray, then removed the 2 screws exposed. Then removed the exterior panel, carefully unplugging the power supply. Then had to remove the ice chute and bracket that held the ice door motor. Replaced motor and ice door, then put everything back together.

Ice dispenser door would nut close, ice was falling out onto the floor
Took ice dispenser face cover off, had to unplug the door motor and another electric connection to completely remove the face cover. Notice ice door support was broke. I held the face plate cover in my hand and plug the ice door motor back in and the other wire plug I had removed to take the face plate off. Tested the ice door motor by pu shing on the ice button. Found that the motor did not operate every time the button was push for ice. Wife told me that she had at times held the ice door open to get the ice to come out. That's most likely how the ice door support was broke. The faulty door motor wasn't allowing the door to open all the time. Looking at the diagram of the parts for my model made it easy what parts to order. Everything went together fine. I surprise my self. The fact that this unit cost over $3,000 I was very happy I could make the repair for $58,00
